City Coliseum, Butterfly Farm, Baker's Hill and Rancho Mitra [Puerto Princesa 2013]

The City Coliseum is less than 5 minutes walk away from our accommodation.  This is where one can apply for Underground River permits.  The office is located on the ground floor of the building.

Steps on applying a permit and fees

They've closed the office as the people are somewhat harassing the staff for them to be able to get permits even if they already have announcements that there are no more available permits for the day and even for the next few days.

After checking out the coliseum, we're off to Butterfly Farm.  We rode the Pajara-Sta. Monica-B House bound multicab (PhP12/person).  Just tell the driver where you're getting off.  Unfortunately, it's closed for renovation.

Butterfly Farm

Having no chance of seeing the Butterfly Farm, we walked to the main road and crossed the street to the tricycle terminal of Baker's Hill (PhP10/person).  The place is like a mini-park with different attractions.  They have an aviary and animal statues (i.e. snake, frogs, dinosaur) inside their garden.  Before we left, we bought some bread from their bakery.

Next stop... Rancho Mitra (or Sta. Monica Ranch).  We hopped on the tricycle waiting outside Baker's Hill.  Fare is PhP10/person.  However, there's no public transportation from there so we asked the tricycle to wait for us (for about 30 minutes) and bring us back to the main road.  For that we paid PhP60.  At least, we don't have to walk back to Baker's Hill terminal under the scorching sun.
